PRODUCT SAFETY

Product Safety, Customer Protection & Important Safety Notice

1. Our Commitment to Product Safety

Your safety, wellbeing and protection are extremely important to us. We are committed to providing customers with a safe and responsible shopping experience. All products should be handled, stored and used carefully, strictly in accordance with their intended purpose, product descriptions, instructions, labels and applicable safety warnings. Customers are responsible for reading all available product information before purchasing or using an item. No product should be assumed to be suitable for every age group, individual or situation. If you are uncertain about the safety or suitability of a product, please refrain from using it until you have obtained appropriate guidance.

2. General Product Safety Warnings

For the safety of all customers, the following precautions must be observed:

  • Do not consume products: Products sold through our store are not intended for human or animal consumption unless explicitly identified and labelled as food or consumable products. Never swallow, taste, ingest or place non-consumable products in your mouth.
  • Do not use products as weapons: Products must never be thrown at, directed towards, or used to threaten, strike or intentionally injure another person or animal.
  • Adult supervision: Children must be supervised by a responsible adult whenever using products that require supervision or present potential safety risks. Adults should assess whether an item is age-appropriate before allowing a child to use it.
  • Follow instructions: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions, age recommendations, warnings and intended-use guidelines.
  • Inspect before use: Check products for sharp edges, loose components, breakages, exposed wires, damage or other potential hazards before use.
  • Discontinue unsafe use: Immediately stop using any product that becomes damaged, overheated, broken, unstable or appears to present a safety risk.
  • Keep hazardous items secure: Store products responsibly and keep potentially dangerous items, small components and packaging away from young children and pets where appropriate.
  • Avoid misuse: Do not modify, dismantle, alter or use products in ways that are inconsistent with their intended purpose.

3. Toy Safety & Children's Products

Children's safety must always come first. Toys and children's products should only be used according to their intended age range, safety instructions and recommended usage. Adult supervision is strongly recommended and must be provided wherever the product's instructions or the child's age and abilities make it necessary.

Parents and guardians should inspect toys regularly for damage, loose parts, sharp edges, choking hazards or other potential dangers. Toys should be kept clean and used only for their intended purpose.

IMPORTANT: Stop using a toy or children's product immediately if it causes or appears to cause any of the following:

  • Skin rashes, redness, irritation or allergic reactions.
  • Burns, unusual heat-related marks or skin discomfort.
  • Scratches, bruising, pressure marks or other visible marks on the body.
  • Cuts, swelling, pain or physical discomfort.
  • Emotional distress, fear, unusual discomfort or any signs of physical or psychological trauma.

Discontinue use immediately, remove the product from the child's reach and seek appropriate medical advice if an injury or adverse reaction occurs. Do not allow the child to use the product again until the cause has been assessed and the item has been confirmed safe.

Never leave young children unattended with toys containing small parts, detachable components, cords, batteries or other potential hazards.

4. Personal Responsibility & Safe Usage

Customers are expected to use products responsibly and in accordance with all supplied safety information. Products must not be intentionally misused, modified or used in circumstances that create unnecessary risks to themselves or others. Customers should take particular care when purchasing items for children, elderly individuals or people who may require additional supervision.

Our safety recommendations are intended to reduce foreseeable risks and encourage responsible product use. However, following these precautions does not remove our responsibilities as a seller or reduce any consumer rights provided by New Zealand law.

5. Product Concerns, Defects & Safety Reports

If you receive a product that appears damaged, defective, unsafe, incorrectly described or unsuitable for its stated purpose, please discontinue use where safety may be affected and contact our customer support team as soon as possible.

Please provide relevant details, including your order information, a description of the concern and photographs where appropriate. We take product safety concerns seriously and will assess reported issues and take appropriate action.

Where necessary, we may investigate a reported safety issue, arrange an appropriate remedy, withdraw an affected product from sale or take further action where a product presents a safety risk.

If a product causes an injury, allergic reaction, burn or other adverse effect, stop using it immediately and seek appropriate medical assistance.

6. New Zealand Consumer Protection & Legal Rights

We are committed to operating in accordance with applicable New Zealand consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and the Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA).

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, products supplied to consumers must meet applicable consumer guarantees, including being of acceptable quality, reasonably safe, fit for their intended purpose and consistent with their descriptions.

If a product fails to meet the applicable consumer guarantees, customers may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue and the remedies available under the Act.

We also aim to ensure that product descriptions, advertising, specifications and safety information are accurate and not misleading, in accordance with the Fair Trading Act.

Nothing in this safety notice, policy or any other store communication is intended to exclude, restrict or override any rights or protections that customers are entitled to under New Zealand law.

7. Final Safety Reminder

By purchasing and using products from our store, customers are encouraged to read and follow all applicable safety instructions, warnings and intended-use guidelines. Parents and guardians remain responsible for providing appropriate supervision to children. Safety should always take priority over convenience, entertainment or continued product use.

If something appears unsafe, stop using it. If a product causes discomfort, injury, irritation or an unexpected reaction, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate assistance.

Your safety matters to us. We are committed to treating product concerns seriously, respecting your consumer rights and maintaining a responsible shopping experience for every customer.
